Simba SC’s head coach Pablo Franco Martin has said he was unhappy with the way his team played in the 3-0 defeat away to ASEC Mimosas in a TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Group D match played on Sunday.

The defeat sent the Tanzania Premier League giants down to third place, while the Cote D’Ivoire side ASEC Mimosas went top of the log with 9 points.

Aubin Kramo Kouame netted ASEC’s opening goal after 16 minutes, before Stephane Aziz Ki made it 2-0 after 25 minutes. Karim Komate netted the third goal in early in the second half.

“My players completely failed to take their chances and we also did not defend well. I am unhappy that the team did not handle the match well,” added the coach.

He however made it clear that they will keep working hard to be in good shape to win the last match against USGM on April 3rd so that they can qualify for the quarter final stage.

A win for Simba SC and what ever results registered between RS Berkane and ASEC will see the Tanzanian side make it to the knock out stage.

Simba SC are the only team from the CECAFA playing in the Group stage of the TotalEnergies CAf Confederation Cup.
