Simba SC all out to make CAF Confederation Cup group stage

The Tanzania Premier League giants Simba Sports Club will be all out determined to make it to the group stage of the 2021/2022 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

Simba SC who have a 3-0 advantage after seeing off Zambian side Red Arrows FC in the first leg of the play-off will hope get a good result in the reverse fixture at the Heroes Stadium in Lusaka on Sunday.

After failing to make it to the group stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League, Simba SC have vowed to give a good account in the Confederation Cup.

Pablo Franco, Simba SC’s new Spanish coach has made it clear that they need to to keep getting better and better. “Since I took over the team last month there are several areas where we have seen improvement. We need to keep aiming to always perform better,” added Franco, the former Real Madrid assistant coach in Spain.

CECAFA’s two other representatives Tusker FC (Kenya) and APR FC (Rwanda) will also play away to North African sides in the return legs. Gor Mahia FC (Kenya) will also host Otoho d’oyo in Nairobi.

APR and Tusker all settled for goalless draws in the first legs against Berkane (Morocco) and Sfaxien (Tunisia) respectively.

While the three teams from the CECAFA Zone battle to try and qualify for the group stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, two Sudan Premier League sides Al Merreikh and Al Hilal Omdurman are already in the group stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.
