Simba Queens head coach Charles Lukula has said his team will bounce back after losing their opening Group A match in the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League in Rabat, Morocco.

The Tanzania Women’s Premier League champions lost 1-0 to AS FAR last night in a match played at the Prince Moulay Al Hassan Stadium in Rabat.

Ibtissam Jraidi netted the lone goal in the second half to help the home side collect maximum points.

Simba Queens also had their chances come through skipper Opah Clement and Vivian Odhiambo and substitutes Barakat Olaiya.

After the match Simba Queens coach Lukula has made it clear that they dominated the match, but failed to put away their chances. “We need to work on the finishing touch because it will be very important as we move forward,” added the coach.

Lukula made it clear that they must come all out to win their next game against Liberia’s Determine Girls FC on November 2nd, 2022. “We need to be at our best and also make sure we defend better and take our chances infront of goal. Our target remains to make it to the semi final stage first,” added the Simba Queens coach.

The competition started yesterday with Zambia’s Green Baffaloes FC stopping Determine Girls FC 4-0 in a Group A match.

Action continue today with reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) facing Nigeria’s Bayelsa Queens FC, while Wadu Degla FC (Egypt) take on TP Mazembe (DR Congo) in Group B matches.
