Simba Queens ready to prove a point – Opah

Simba Queens striker Opah Clement Tukumbuke has said they are ready for the challenge at the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League which kicks off in Morocco tomorrow.

The Tanzania Women’s League Champions, CECAFA’s representatives will kick start their campaign against ASFAR FC in a Group A match at the Prince Heritier Moulay el Hassan in Rabat.

“We have prepared well and we are well motivated to perform well,” said the captain.

Tukumbuke who will have one of the key responsibilities to knock in the goals says they are going to work hard as a team to make sure they get to the knock out stages of the tournament. “We are new in this tournament, but also believe we hve what it takes to play well,” added Tukumbuke.

The striker who had a short stint with Turkey’s Kayseri Kadın FK this year says for starters they are targeting making it to the semi final stage. “We want to first get to the semi final and after that we set another target,” added the striker.

Simba Queens are placed in Group B alongside ASFAR (Morocco), Green Buffaloes (Zambia) and Determine Girls (Liberia).

Group B has Bayelsa of Nigeria, Wadi Degla (Egypt), TP Mazembe Women (DR Congo) and defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa).
