The head coach of the She Corporate FC, Charles Lukula Ayiekoh has warned that his players must be very disciplined when they face Ethiopian side in the first semi final clash of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Zone qualifier in Tanzania.

After topping Group A with maximum points Commercial Bank of Ethiopia FC (CBE), last year’s runner-up will face the Ugandan team She Corporate in the first semi final on Wednesday at the Azam Complex, Chamazi.

Ayiekoh has made it clear that although CBE has very talented players and play a highly passing game, his team has what it takes to absorb the pressure if they are very disciplined. “A knock out is a knock out and we simply have to get the strategy right,” added Ayiekoh.

To reach the semi final stage CBE stopped Garde Republicaine FC (Djibouti) 6-0, and followed it up with a 5-1 win against FOFILA PF (Burundi). They defeated AS Kigali WFC 2-0 in the last Group A match on Sunday.

The Uganda Women’s Premier League reigning champions also kick started their Group B campaign with a 6-0 win against Yei Joint Stars FC (South Sudan). In the second match they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Simba Queens FC (Tanzania), but humbled the Djibouti side 8-0 on Sunday to take their goal tally to 14.

The second semi final clash also to take place on Wednesday will see Simba Queens battle AS Kigali WFC. Coach Sebastian Leonard Nkoma’s side have showed good form winning all their three Group matches and scoring 12 goals and conceding none. “That was the group stage and now wait to see the true Simba Queens in the knock out round,” says Coach Nkoma.

The play-off and final will be played on August 27th with the winning team qualifying to play in the TotalEnergies Women’s Champions League 2022 to take place in Morocco.
