Rwanda wallop Central African Republic 5-0 in Kigali

The Amavubi of Rwanda have walloped the Central African Republic national team 5-0 in an international friendly match played today in Kigali.

Muhajir Hakizimana gave the home side an early 4th minute lead at the Amahoro Stadium.

As the visiting side tried to fight back to level matters Rwanda pushed forward and Yves Muganga made it 2-0 a at the stroke of half time.

In the second half the Central African Republic team tried to play a highly defensive game, but Martin Fabrice netted the third goal for Rwanda after 65 minutes. Dominique Savio made it 4-0, before Fabrice later got his second of the day.

The Amavubi defeated the same team 2-0 few days ago in the first International friendly. Rwanda’s head coach Vincent Mashami said he was happy with the way his players expressed themselves and defended well.

“I am happy we have had these two build-up games as we prepare our team ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers,” said Mashami.

Three other teams from the CECAFA region will also be engaged in international friendly matches during the FIFA window for international matches include; Uganda Cranes will play away to Bafana Bafana, while Sudan host Zambia in Khartoum and Tanzania take on Malawi in Dar es salaam.
