Rwanda not renewing head coach Mashami’s contract

The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) has announced that they will not renew the contract of national team coach Vincent Mashami.

Mashami’s contract expired on March, 2,2022.

Today FERWAFA has communicated that Mashami’s contract will not be renewed. “ FERWAFA would like to inform the general public that the contract of the Senior men’s national team head coach Mashami will not be renewed following the expiry of its duration,” said the FERWAFA communication.

The Federation thanked Mashami for his achievement during his tenure and wish him well for his future endeavors in his career as a coach.

“The new head coach recruitment process will be communicated in due course,” added the communication on the Federation Twitter handle.

The 41-year old Mashami took over as head coach of the national team in 2018 to replace German Antoine Hey who left his position after Rwanda’s exit at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2018 in Morocco.

Mashami guided Rwanda’s national team to the quarter final stage at the  African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2020 held in Cameroon. Previously he also handle Rwanda Premier League side APR.
