Nine teams for CECAFA U-15 Boys Championship
The Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) has confirmed that nine teams will participate in the regional U-15 Boys Championship.
Yussuf Mossi, the CECAFA Competitions Director has confirmed that nine member Associations have registered their teams ahead of the Championship slated for November 4-16 in Njeru, Uganda.
” We shall have the draw conducted on October 31th, 2023,” added Mossi who made it clear that this competition will help the youngsters prepare for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) CECAFA Zonal qualifiers taking place next year.
The teams that will take part include the defending champions and hosts Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Somalia, Djibouti, South Sudan and Zanzibar. The other members Sudan, Burundi and Eritrea will miss out.
The last CECAFA U-15 Boys Championship was held in Asmara, Eritrea in 2019 where Uganda defeated Kenya in the final.
