FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup qualifiers
New third round pairings for FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers out
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the rectified pairings for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers for the third round.
“Previously, the system erroneously published a few incorrect fixtures. This has since been rectified,” said CAF on October 17th.
Uganda will now face South Africa in the third round instead of Botswana that had earlier been communicated last week. Ethiopia will face Botswana, while two teams from the CECAFA region Tanzania and Burundi will also face-off.
To reach the third round Uganda ejected Kenya 10-3 on aggregate, while Tanzania eliminated Eritrea. The Ethiopian and Burundi teams ejected Rwanda and Namibia respectively.
The first leg of the third round will take place between December 2-4, while the return leg will take place from December 16-18. Africa will qualify two teams to the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup to take place in Costa Rica.
