Muyenge elected Burundi Football Federation President

The Police Commissioner in charge of Institutions Protection in Burundi, Alexandre Muyenge is the new President of the Burundi Football Federation (FFB).

Muyenge was voted during the FFB Elective General Assembly held at the Tropitel Hotel in Gitega on Sunday.

The Assembly was also graced by the General Secretary of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Véron Mosengo-Omba and officials from FIFA.

The 52-year old Muyenge takes over from Reverien Ndikuriyo who did not seek another term of office. “Together as an executive we shall work hard to see football development in Burundi,” said Muyenge, also a CAF Security Officer.

Arcade Nimubona was voted 1st Vice President, while Moustapha Samugabo returned as 2nd Vice President.

The other FFB executive members also elected to serve from 2021-2025 include; Denis Karera (Finance), Yussuf Mossi (Competitions), Dominic Nyamugaruka (Youth), Alexis Bandyatuyaga (Players Status Committee), Fabrice Niragira (Media Committee), Eugenie Kabura (Women’s Football), Alexis Harimenshi (Beach Soccer and Futsal), Jean Pierre Gishikizo (Technical), Dr. Desire Ndahabonayo (Medical), Domitien Niyonkuru (Security), Marc Manirakiza (Legal Committee), Evariste Murengerantwari (Referees Committee).
