Mnunka leading scorer in CECAFA U-18 Women’s Championship

Tanzania’s Aisha Juma Mnunka leads the scoring chart at the on-going CECAFA U-18 Women’s Championship in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Mnunka who has showed good form leads the scoring chart with three goals after finding the net in every match Tanzania has played.

The hosts opened their campaign with a 3-0 victory against Burundi, stopped Ethiopia 2-0 in the second match and struggled to stop Zanzibar 1-0 in a match played on Sunday at the Azam Complex, Chamazi.

” We are working hard as a team to try and win the Cup. But I am also happy that I have scored in every match and I am determined to score more goals in the last match against Uganda and help the team win, ” added Mnunka who also features for Simba Queens in the Tanzania Women’s Premier League.

Ethiopia’s Emush Daniel Dandamo who netted a brace in their 2-0 win against Burundi is placed second on the chart. The other players who have scored one goal each include ; Minfrida Gerald, Sarah Joel, Noela Patrick Luhala (Tanzania), Allen Nassaazi, Brenda Munyana, Agnes Nabukenya and Phionah Nabulime (Uganda).

Burundi and Zanzibar are the two teams that are yet to score a goal after playing two matches each.
