Mozambique international Luís Miquissone has thanked his former club, Simba Sports Club for the support while he featured for the Tanzanian giants.

The star player was this week signed by Africa’s most celebrated and current Champions League Cup holders Al Ahly of Egypt.

“It is because of the good platform and opportunity that I have had at Simba SC that I have been able to successfully move to another big team. I thank Simba for all the support and the platform they gave me,” added Miquissone.

The gifted Miquissone had been linked with Al Ahly for several months mainly after his good performance in the CAF Champions League, where he netted the  winner against the African champions in the group stages.

Previously Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane handled Miquissone at Mamelodi Sundowns back in 2018. He was later  loaned out to Chippa United, Royal Eagles FC, and UD Songo, before joining Simba permanently in January 2020.

Miquissone becomes the first-ever Mozambican to play for Al Ahly. Se veral other players from Mozambique have featured in the Egyptian League before.
