KMKM Sports Club leads Zanzibar Premier League
Kikosi Maalum cha Kuzuia Magendo Sports Club, KMKM SC are top of the 2019/2020 Zanzibar Premier League with 20 points from 8 games played. KMKM SC stopped Selem View FC 2-1 last Friday at the Gombani Stadium to go top of the log, while their closest rivals Zimamoto SC suffered their first loss 3-1 to JKU FC on Sunday.
Optatus Yustine Lukekenya who has been one of KMKM’s leading scorers said they are determined to win the title this season. “We need to keep focused and get the results because our target is to win the title,” he added.
KMKM have won six games, drawn twice and netted 13 goals with 3 conceded. Second placed Zimamoto are second on 19 points with six games won, one draw and one defeat with 20 goals scored.
JKU FC have maintained their third spot placing with 18 points with six games won and two defeats, while Mlandege FC are fourth with 15 points.
Malindi FC who represented Zanzibar in the Total CAF Confederation Cup losing to Egypt’s Al Masry are placed a distant 13th with only six points from 8 games played and one win registered.
Chipukizi FC who have only managed two draws from eight games played are bottom of the 16 team League table with 2 points.
