KMKM SC crowned Zanzibar Premier League champions
KMKM SC were on Sunday crowned champions of the 2021/2022 PBZ Zanzibar Premier League.
Coach Ame Msim Khamis’ team beat Mlandege FC 1-0 in their last match played at the Amaan Stadium on Sunday. Abrahman Ali netted the lone goal after 42 minutes.
The KMKM SC team finished the League with 70 points from 30 matches played. They collected 21 wins, seven draws and two defeats.
JKU SC came second with 59 points. Mafunzo SC and KVZ SC finished in third and fourth place respectively, while Selem View FC, Yosso Boys FC, Machomane SC and Kisiwani FC were relegated to the lower Division.
KMKM SC who failed to go past the first preliminary round of the 2021/2022 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League will this time have another chance to prove a point at continental level.
Meanwhile, Kipanga FC will represent Zanzibar in the 2022/2023 TotalEnergies CAF Confedertion Cup after they lifted the Zanzibar Cup. Kipanga beat Chipukizi FC 1-0 in the final played on June 17th, 2022.
