Striker Michael Olunga proved the that he was the missing link in the Al Duhail FC attack when he stepped off the bench in the second half to score all the five goals in the 5-0 win against Al Sailiya.

Al Duhail registered their biggest win in the 2021/2022 Qatar Stars League in the match played on Sunday.

With one goal in the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers to his his credit from two matches and two goals in the opening match of the season in Qatar, Olunga made sure he picked his first five  goals scored in a single match in Qatar in style.

Coach Luis Castro who had left out the Kenya national team captain Olunga in the games against Al Arabi and Al Gharafa brought him on after 46 minutes and the striker made no mistake 10 minutes later.

Olunga made it 2-0 after six minutes. He added the third after 68 minutes and proved that his appetite for more more goals was still high with goals in the 79th and 85th minutes respectively.

“I am happy that Olunga came on and changed the game with five goals,” said the Al Duhail coach Castro.

Al Duhail are second on the log with the same number of points (12) with table leaders Al Sadd. The table leaders are handled by former Spanish international Xavi Hernandez.
