Tanzania’s Simba Queens will tonight face reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies team in one of the semi final matches at the on-going 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League in Rabat, Morocco.

The second semi final clash that will also be played at the Moulay Hassan Stadium will see ASFAR (Morocco) take on Bayelsa Queens of Nigeria.

Going into the match Simba Queens head coach Charles Lukula says it will be a high mountain to climb facing the reigning champions. “Mamelodi Sundowns are a good team with comfortable players on the ball. But we have planned well for them and know what we shall do,” added Lukula.

Simba Queens will look to skipper Opah Clement Tukumbuke who has already netted two goals in the tournament, Barakat Olaya and Burundian national team captain Asha Djafari to find the goals for the CECAFA giants.

The Simba Queens will have play with caution as they battle a team that has netted 11 goals and conceded only one in the three group matches played. Lelona Daweti is Mamelodi Sundowns leading scorer with four goals.

To reach the semi finals Simba Queens opened their campaign with a 1-0 defeat to ASFAR, beat Determine Girls of Liberia 2-0 and handled Green Baffaloes (Zambia) 2-0.
