Horseed SC beat Mogadishu City Club to win Somali Super Cup

Horseed Sports Club are the winners of the Somali Super Cup 2021.

The Somali military-owned side defeated Mogadishu City Club 2-0 in the final played at the Mogadishu Stadium on Sunday.

Watched by a large crowd the reigning Somali Premier League champions scored in each half to come out winners.

HorsFarhan Mohamed Ahmed netted for Horseed SC after seven minutes, and Feysal Hassan Hashi converted a penalty after 55 minutes to make it 2-0.

Mogadishu City Club handled by former Ugandan international Hussien Mbalangu tried to push forward to look for goals, but failed to break through the Horseed SC defending line.

The Acting President of the Somali Football Federation, Ali Abdi Mohamed graced the final and handled over the trophy.

Action in the Somali Premier League will now kick-off on June 17th with Dekedda Sports Club taking on Badbaado FC. The 10 teams that will battle in the Somali Premier League include; Horseed SC, Mogadishu City Club, Dekedaha FC, Badbaado FC, Jeenyo FC, Raadsan FC, Saxafi FC, Midniimo FC, Heegan FC and Gaadiidka FC.
