Uganda has humbled Burundi 6-0 to set up a final against arch-rivals Kenya in the inaugural Cecafa U-15 Challenge Cup in Asmara, Eritrea. Before the semi final clash Uganda had scored 13 goals and conceded none.

Against Burundi coach Jackson Magera’s team took a 4-0 lead at half time with Devis Ogwal, Abasi Kyeyune, Travis Mutyaba and skipper Vincent Mulema scoring.

In the second half Jean Darcy Irakoze missed the target by inches for Burundi after 50 minutes. But substitute Godfrey Ssekibengo made it 5-0 for Uganda before Mutyaba got his second of the day.

Kyeyune who scored his seventh goal of the tournament told Cecafafootball.com that he is happy to keep scoring in the tournament. “My target is to win the top scorer’s trophy,” added Kyeyune.

Burundi’s coach Gustave Niyonkuru said his boys completely failed to match the Ugandan team. “It was a very bad game for us,” said the coach.

The Ugandan coach Magera said his boys followed instructions well. “I did not expect to win with a big margin, but the boys kept attacking in numbers,” said a happy Magera.

The earlier semi final game saw a 10-man Kenyan team defeat Rwanda 4-2 on penalties after the game had ended 1-1.

On Friday the Rwanda and Burundi will face off first in the play-off match, before the final.
