Good start for She Corporate, Simba Queens

_{Uganda’s She Corporate and Simba Queens FC have kick started the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League 2022 qualifiers for the CECAFA Zone in style with huge wins.}

_{She Corporate brushed aside South Sudan’s Yei Joint Stars FC 6-0 in the opening Group B match played at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Sunday. But the home side Simba Queens FC made sure they joined the party and showed their intentions as contendants for the trophy with a 6-0 victory against GRFC from Djibouti.}

_{The She Coroprate making a debut in the tournament took a 3-0 half time lead with goals from Phiona Nabbuma, Ana Namata and Margaret Namiru. Although the Yei Joint Stars returned to through more players at the back, The Ugandan champions pushed forward before Nabbuma netted her second goal after eight minutes. Favour Nambatya and Joanitah Ainembabazi also got their names on the score sheet.}

_{In the second match, the Tanzania Women’s Premier League Champions Simba Queens FC started the match on a high, but found a highly defensive GRFC side. But after 30 minutes Pambani Kuzoya broke the deadlock with a clean finish.}

_{Olaiya Barakat and Burundi national team captain Asha Djafari also scored to make sure Simba Queens took a 3-0 lead at half time. Joelle Bakuru made it 4-0 after 51 minutes, before Barakat and Djafari showed they were still in scoring mood.}

_{Simba Queens coach Deodatrus Mholery Eliuter said he was happy with the performance of the team. “We need to keep working hard because this is just the start of the tournament. I know facing the Ugandan side will be the real test in the Group stage,” added Eliuter.}

_{On Monday last year’s runners-up Commercial Bank of Ethiopia will face Warrior Queens FC from Zanzibar, and FOFILA (Burundi) take on  AS Kigali WFC (Rwanda) in Group A matches to be played at the Azam Complex in Chamazi.}
