FIFA female referee Rukyaa to handle Simba, Yanga derby
Female FIFA referee Jonesia Rukyaa Kabakama has been appointed to handle the Tanzania Vodacom Premier League derby between Simba Sports Club and Young Africans on January 4th. The derby between the traditional rivals will take place at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Rukyaa who also officiated the 2019 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations will be assisted Sudi Lilla and Hamis Chang’walu.
Simba SC who have been enjoying good form under new coach Sven Vanderbroeck are currently top of the log with 34 points, while Young Africans in third place with 24 points have played two games less. Azam FC are second on the log with 26 points.
The likes of skipper John Bocco, Meddie Kagere and Kenyan international Francis Kahata are expected to play pivotal roles of the League leaders, while Patrick Sibomana, Tariq Seif and Danny Lyanga will be key for Young Africans.
On Friday ticket selling points were very busy as fans rushed to buy tickets ahead of the derby. The two teams could also face-off during the 2020 Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar which runs January 6-13th.
