Fans flock Zanzibar as Simba SC host Stellenbosch in Confederation Cup semi final stage

Tanzania Premier League giants Simba SC are ready to host Stellenbosch FC in the first leg of the 2024/2025 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup first leg of the semi-final stage.

Several fans have traveled from Tanzania mainland to witness Simba SC host the South African side on Sunday at the Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.

After seeing off Egypt’s Al Masry at the quarter final stage, Simba Sc head coach Fadlu Davids has made it clear that the first leg in Zanzibar will be very important before they even travel for the return leg.

“We need to handle the game with a lot of caution and also make sure we take our chances that we create in-front of goal. We must play as a team,” added the Simba SC coach.

Che Fondoh Malone, Simba SC defender also made it clear that they must ensure they do not concede a goal to give themselves a chance to advance to the final.

“We need to score as many goals as possible and also defend well enough,” said the defender.

Simba SC will hope that the likes of Elie Mpanzu, Leonel Ateba and Ugandan International Steven Mukwala find their scoring touch. The hosts will also have to keep a close watch on Stellenbosch’s attack with New Zealand striker Andre Ernest de Jong and Sihle
