Ex-Chelsea coach Grant to attend Tanzania Football Summit in Zanzibar

Former Chelsea head coach Arvam Grant will grace the Tanzania Football Summit slated for June 25-26 at the Golden Tulip Zanzibar Airport Hotel in Zanzibar.

Peter Simon, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Afrisoccer, the organisers of the Summit told Cecafaonline that they are delighted that Grant together with other dignatories in the football space have agreed to attend.

“ The preparations of the summit are going on smoothly. We are going to exchange a lot of ideas which will in-turn bring about football development not only in Tanzania, but Africa as a whole,” said Simon. He also called upon more sponsors to come on board.

He also made it clear that Tanzania’s former head coach Marcio Maximo from Brazil will also attend the Summit as a special guest. Maximo is remembered for guiding Tanzania to qualification for of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Ivory Coast in 2009.

The Summit which will have six topics of discussion; Football beyond COVID-19, Football business investments, Football leadership and management, Sports Law, Sports tourism and the use of sport to address social issues in communities around Tanzania and Africa.

Former star players and current President of the Cameroon Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o, former Senegalese player Khalilou Fadiga, Aydogan Murat of Bregel Sport-Genk of Belgium and Yair Galily from Israel have also confirmed attendance of the Summit.

Last year Afrosoccer, a sports consulting firm organized the inaugural Tanzania Football Summit which took place in Dar es Salaam.
