Ethiopia to play International friendly matches in USA
The Walias of Ethiopia will play two international friendly matches in the United States of America.
Bahiru Tilahun, the Secretary of the Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) confirmed to Cecafaonline that the national team will tour USA in July this year.
“We are making the preparations and will communicate which opponents our team will face. But the first match will be played in Washington DC on July 8th,” added Tilahun.
EFF says the historic tour in Washington DC and Atlanta will also help showcase the skills and talent of the national team.
Ethiopia’s national team under the watchful eyes of head coach Wubetu Abate this year played in the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco, but failed to make it to the knock out stage.
In the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers Ethiopia are bottom of Group D after winning one game and losing three. Egypt and Guinea each have nine points, while Malawi also have only three points like Ethiopia.
