The national team of Ethiopia will host Uganda Cranes in two international friendly matches in Adama.

The Ethiopia Football Federation (EFF) has announced that the two matches to be played on Friday and on August 21st will be used by the two teams to prepare for the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.

Milutin Sredojevic, the Uganda Cranes head coach says the international friendly matches come at the best time since they will face Tanzania soon in the CHAN qualifier.

“These are very important matches for us since they will prepare the team ahead of the qualifier matches in TotalEnergies African Nations Championship against Tanzania,” explained Sredojevic.

The coach reasoned that facing Ethiopia is a good test because most of their players for the national senior team all play in the local League. Uganda will play away to Tanzania on August 28th in the first leg of the CHAN 2022 qualifier before the return leg in Kampala slated for September 3rd, 2022.

The other CHAN qualifier matches in the second round for teams in the CECAFA region will see Ethiopia face Rwanda, while Djibouti take on Sudan.
