Ethiopia, Tanzania progress to next round of FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers
Council of East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) members Ethiopia and Tanzania on Sunday progressed to the next stage of the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers.
Ethiopia battled hard to pick a vital draw away to Lesotho which saw them qualify on an away goal’s rule.
In Dar es salaam, it was a game that was decided on penalties after Tanzania and Burundi settled for a 1-1 draw. Tanzanian veteran goalkeeper Juma Kaseja helped his side win 3-0 on penalties.
On Tuesday other members of the Cecafa region will be in action with Somalia playing away to Zimbabwe, while Sudan host Chad in Khartoum. Djibouti will also play away to Eswatini and Eritrea take on Namibia, while Rwanda host Seychelles in Kigali.
