Ethiopia host Tanzania in crucial FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier
The second leg of the third round in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier between Ethiopia and Tanzania will be played at the Abebe Bikila in Addis Ababa this afternoon.
Coach Bakari Shime’s team carry a 1-0 advantage and can afford a draw to qualify for the final round of the qualifiers.
“We know it will be a very tough match, but my players are well prepared for the match. The weather here is similar to that we experienced in Eritrea,” said coach Bakari Shime.
Ethiopia, the reigning CECAFA U-20 Women’s champions have also vowed to turn tables and get a good results that will see them make it to the final phase of the the qualifiers.
Firew Hailegebral, Ethiopia’s coach told Cecafaonline.com that they know what to expect in this match and will be out to try and take their chances. “We missed several chances in the first leg, and we must be sharper today,” said Hailegebral.
Tomorrow another team from the CECAFA region Uganda will play away to Ghana in the return leg at the Cape Coast Stadium, Cape Coast. Ghana defeated Uganda 2-1 in the first leg played at the St. Marys Stadium, Kitende.
In the other qualifier matches to be played on Saturday, Nigeria will face Cameroon, while Senegal take on Morocco.
Two teams from Africa will qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2022 to take place in Costa Rica.
