Dr. Motsepe to meet CECAFA President Karia in Kigali

The President of the Council of East and Central African Football Associations (CECAFA) will meet the CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe on May 15th in Kigali, Rwanda.

Karia together with Presidents of five other CAF Zonal Unions COSAFA, UNAF, UNIFFAC, WAFU A, WAFU B will meet Dr. Motsepe at the sidelines of the CAF Executive Meeting.

Although FIFA President Gianni Infantino will be among the distinguished guests in Kigali, it is not yet clear if he will also meet with the CAF Zonal Union Presidents.

According to CAF, the main items on the Executive Committee Agenda relate to the implementation of the Pan-African Schools Football Championship, the CAF/FIFA Refereeing Agreement and the FIFA-CAF USD 1 billion Infrastructure Development project.

The Executive Committee will also discuss matters to do with the 2022-2024 competitions calendar and the challenges relating to the pre-match COVID-19 testing.

The CECAFA region is expected kick-start their 2021 season with the CECAFA U-23 men’s Challenge Cup slated for July 3-18 in Ethiopia.
