The Uganda Crested Cranes will face a tough test when they face hosts Morocco tonight in a Group A match at the on-going TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2022 in Rabat.

After losing their opening match 2-0 to Senegal, the Crested Cranes will have to be at their best to go out and battle for maximum points to revive their hopes of making it to the later stages of the tournament.

“We come into this game on the back of a loss. Having looked at our performance, we have tried to rectify our mistakes and hope for improvement against hosts Morocco. It is a tough game for us but we must find a good result to keep our dreams alive,” said Uganda Crested Cranes coach George William Lutalo.

The coach said his players are well motivated and determined to go give their best. Ruth Aturo, the team captain and goalkeeper told cecafaonline.com that they have no alternative but to go all out and play to win the match. “We know what to expect and we are ready,” added Aturo.

Reynald Pedros, coach of the Atlas Lionesses  says facing Uganda Crested Cranes will not be at easy task because they will be determined to get a good result having lost their opening match.

“They have very talented players and their ball movement is good. We are sure they will come all out to try and win,” said the French man.

But before Uganda Crested Cranes take to the field, table leaders Senegal will take on Burkina Faso.
