Djibouti to face UAE in 2021 Arab Cup U-20
Djibouti will carry the Council of East and Central African Football Associations (CECAFA) flag when they take part in the 2021 Arab Cup U-20.
The competition which will attract 16 Arab nations will take place between June 20 to July 6th in Egypt. The Union of Arab Football Associations are the organisers of the competition.
Djibouti’s U-20 team that last participated in the CECAFA regional tournament last November in Tanzania are placed in Group B alongside UAE, Morocco and Tajikistan.
The draws for the tournament conducted yesterday also pitted the defending champions Senegal in Group C alongside Lebanon, Iraq and Comoros.
The 16 teams are divided in 4 different groups with the opening match between Egypt and Niger to be played on June 20th. Last year the tournament was hosted by Dammam, Saudi Arabia where Senegal defeated Tunisia 1-0 in the final.
Group A: Egypt, Niger, Mauritania, Algeria
Group B: Morocco, Tajikistan, UAE, Djibouti
Group C: Senegal, Lebanon, Iraq, Comoros
Group D: Tunisia, Yemen, Saudi Arabia,(Fourth team to be determined later)
