The Djibouti national team has this evening lost 4-2 to a 10-man Niger in a Group A match played at the Prince Moulay Stadium in Rabat, Morocco.

Djibouti decided to play all their home matches in Morocco since their stadium have not been cleared to host FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

Anas Ali scored first for Djibouti after 32 minutes, but the Niger team leveled matters through Victorien Adebayor on 56 minutes.

The Niger team later dominated play and scored more goals through Adebayor for his second, Amadou Wonkoye and Amadou Sabou.

The Niger team was reduced by a player after Hassane Adamou was sent off for a bad challenge. Djibouti reduced the deficit with a goal by Houisen Warsama one minute into added time.

It was another heavy defeat for Djibouti’s coach Julien Mette whose team lost 8-0 away to African champions Algeria.

The hosts had defender Murushid Juuko sent-off early in the second half. Mali maintained the lead in the group with 4 points, while Kenya and Uganda are second and third respectively, while Rwanda is bottom with 1 point.
