COSAFA invite Uganda for inaugural Women’s U-17 Championship
The Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (Cosafa) has invited Uganda to participate in the inaugural Cosafa Women’s U-17 Championship. Eight teams will take part in the Championship slated for September 20-29 in Port Louis, Mauritius.
“We are happy about the invitation because this will give our girls chance to get exposure at international stage,” said Edgar Watson, the Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda FA.
Uganda are pooled in Group A alongside hosts Mauritius, Comoros and Zambia, while Group B has Seychelles, Madagascar, South Africa and Botswana.
Early this month Tanzania were also crowned as the inaugural Cosafa Women’s Under-20 Champions after defeating Zambia 2-1 in the final.
