Cecafa members improve in latest FIFA rankings
Members in the Council of East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) zone have showed improvement in the latest FIFA rankings released on September 19th. Uganda with 1305 points who are ranked 80th in the world remained the best placed member in the region as per the rankings released in Zurich, Switzerland,
Kenya (1201 points) who remained in 107th position are the second best ranked team in the Cecafa region, while Sudan improved by one spot to 128 with 1111 points.
Rwanda who ejected Seychelles in the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifier also improved by three places to 130th position with 1104. Djibouti showed the best improvement moving nine places to 186th with 913 points. Tanzania who improved by two places to 135th have accumulated 1083 points, while Burundi who also improved by four places are in 144th place with 1065 points.
Eritrea continued to drop by five places to 207th place, while South Sudan also dropped by four places to 173rd with 977 points.
Senegal remained Africa’s best ranked team at 20th place with 1546 points, while Tunisia are in 29th place in the FIFA rankings.
Belgium with 752 points remain the best ranked nation, wnile France and Brazil are second and third respectively.
