Byekwaso to handle Uganda’s team for Cecafa U-20 Challenge Cup

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (Fufa) has selected Morley Byekwaso to handle the U-20 team during the regional Cecafa U-20 Challenge Cup. Uganda has confirmed that they will host the tournament September 21st to October 5th.

Byekwaso, an assistant coach with Uganda Premier League champions KCCA FC will handled the team together with Hamza Lutalo as the assistant.

“I am happy to be given chance to handle the U-20 team for the Cecafa tournament,” said Byekwaso. The biggest bulk of Uganda’s U-20 team will be from the squad that featured in the recent Afcon U-17 in Tanzania.

Nicholas Musonye, the Secretary General of the Council of East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) is expected to arrive in Uganda later this week to inspect the facilities before the tournament takes place.

The teams expected to take part in the Cecafa U-20 Challenge Cup include; Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Sudan, South Sudan, Djibouti, Eritrea, Somalia, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Burundi.
