Bottom placed Tooro Utd upset table leaders Vipers in Uganda Premier League

Tooro United FC has shocked table leaders SC Vipers 1-0 in a Uganda Premier League match played at the Buhinga Stadium in Fort Portal.

Mark Nsubuga netted the lone goal for the bottom placed Tooro United side after 79 minutes.

Vipers’ attack of Yunus Sentamu, Milton Karisa and Ceaser Manzoki all had attempts at the Tooro United goal, but Simon Mabuya in goal for the home side was up to the task.

Vipers’ defeat opens the title race with second placed KCCA FC and URA FC all with a chance.

Tooro United who remain bottom of the log, now have 15 points, while Vipers have 43 points, three ahead of second placed KCCA FC who face SC Villa on Saturday.

In the other matches played today Soltilo Bright Stars stopped 4th placed Bidco FC 3-0 in a match played at the Kavumba Recreational Stadium Ibrahim Kasinde, Joseph Janjali and substitute Methodius Jjungu scored for Soltilo Bright Stars.

The third match saw Busoga United FC settle for a goalless draw against Police FC.
