Asec Mimosas arrive in Dar es Salaam to face Simba SC

Cote d’Ivoire’s Asec Mimosas arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania this afternoon ahead of a 2021/2022 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Group D match.

Tanzania’s giants Simba SC will host Asec Mimosas on Sunday at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in what promises to be a thriller.

The Asec Mimosas team, the most successful team in Cote d’Ivoire arrived this afternoon on an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Addis Ababa.

Shomari Kapombe, one of Simba SC’s key defenders has called on the fans to come in big numbers to cheer the team. “I urge all fans to come and support us in large numbers in this game,” said Kapombe.

To reach the group stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, Simba SC ejected Zambia’s Red Arrows FC in the Additional Second Preliminary round.

The other teams in the same Group include; USGN (Niger) and Morocco’s RSB Berkane. Simba SC are the only team in the CECAFA region that qualified to play in the Group stage of 2021/2022 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.
