Arta Solar 7 signs Ugandan international Lwanga

Djibouti Premier League reigning champions Arta Solar7 have signed Ugandan international Taddeo Lwanga.

The midfielder who featured for Tanzania’s Simba SC for the last two seasons before the contract was terminated two weeks ago signed a one year contract for the Djibouti giants.

“I am glad to join a new team and start a new challenge,” said Lwanga who joined the team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania for pre-season training.

He becomes the second Ugandan to feature for the club after Sulait Luyima who is the club’s first choice goalkeeper. The Club also boosts of former Arsenal and Barcelona star Alexandre Song, former West Ham striker Diafra Sakho and Burkina Faso’s Alain Traore. Former Cameroon goalkeeper Idris Kameni was recently released by the Club.

Lwanga has also played for Ugandan sides SC Villa, Express, Vipers SC and Tanta FC (Egypt).

The Djibouti side will face Al Merreikh (Sudan) in the preliminary round of the 2022/2023 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.
