Al Hilal suffer defeat to Cape Town City in build-up ahead of Champions League tie

Sudan Premier League side, Al Hilal SC suffered a 3-1 defeat to Cape Town City FC in friendly match played yesterday at the Atlone Stadium.

Mogamat May, Darwin Gonzalez and Thabo Nodada netted for the South African side, while new signing Abdul Ajagun scored for Al Hilal SC.

The Sudan side signed the Nigerian attacking midfielder Ajagun few days ago from South Africa DStv Premiership side Cape Town City.

The 28-year-old had been with Caoe Town City FC since joining the club as a free agent in February 2021 following a stint with Belgium outfit KV Kortrijk.

Al Hilal SC who have been camped in South Africa since December 28th, 2021 will face Mamelodi Sundowns on February 11th in a Group A match of the 2021/2022 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League. The other teams in the same group include another Sudanese side Al Merreikh and reigning champions Al Ahly.
