Sudan’s Al Hilal stop Simba SC in build-up tie
Sudan Premier League champions Al Hilal defeated visiting Simba SC 1-0 in an international friendly played on Tuesday night at the Al Hilal Stadium in Khartoum.
The two teams used the build-up match to prepare ahead of the start of the 2022/2023 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League preliminary matches that star on September 9th.
John Mano nodded in the lone goal after 62 minutes to ensure Al Hilal team won all their three international friendly matches played in the last few days. Before facing Al Hilal, the Tanzanian side had stopped Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko 4-2 on August 28th in a match played in Khartoum.
Al Hilal also defeated Asante Kotoko 2-0 and 5-0 respectively in two matches played in Khartoum few days ago.
In the other international friendly matches around the region Rwanda’s Rayon Sport will host Uganda Revenue Authority FC in Kigali on Friday. Rayon Sports lost 1-0 to Uganda’s Premier League champions Vipers SC in another friendly played in Kigali two weeks ago.
