Vodacom Tanzania Premier League table leaders and 2021  Mapinduzi Cup winners Young Africans FC (Yanga) have sacked head coach Cedric Kaze.

The club posted a statement on all their media platforms on Sunday and asked fans to keep calm as they look for the coach’s replacement.

Hersi Said, one of the Club officials confirmed to Cecafaonline about the development.

Besides Kaze who was signed few months ago, the other members affected assistant coach Nizar Halfan, physio Edem  Mortoisi, goalkeeper coach Vladmir Niyonkuru and the head of security Mussa Mahundi.

The development came few hours after Young Africans were held to a 1-1 draw by Polisi Tanzania in a Vodacom Tanzania Premier League match.

Young Africans FC who defeated arch-rivals Simba SC to lift the Mapinduzi Cup early this year in Zanzibar are top of the log with 50 points. But Simba SC in second position with 45 points have four games in hand.

In his message, Kaze has asked Yanga to be patience as they work to win trophies. “It is my pleasure to have worked with you during these 5 months. I leave Young Africans in 1st place and that’s my pride,” he added.

During his time in-charge the team picked 10 wins in the Premier League, drew 7 times and lost once. They also won the 2021 Mapinduzi Cup.
