Eritrea ready to host Tanzania in FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier

Eritrea will host Tanzania in the second round of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers in Asmara.

Esayas Abraham, President of the Eritrean National Football Federation (ENFF) told Cecafaonline that they are ready to host the first leg on September 25^th at the Dendem Stadium.

“We are prepared to host the match and the team is preparing well ahead of the match,” said Esayas Abraham.

Eritrea ejected Djibouti 6-1 on a aggregate in the first round last month. Eritrea last hosted an international match on September 4^th, 2019 when the national men’s team faced Namibia in the preliminary round of the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

The teams in the CECAFA region that will be in action between September 23-25^th in the second round of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers include; Rwanda, Ethiopia, Burundi, Kenya and Uganda.

Costa Rica will host the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup which will be the 10th edition. The biennial international event was meant to be hosted by Costa Rica in 2020, but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is now scheduled to take place next year.
