CECAFA officials ready to play key roles in TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations

The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 will finally kick off on January 13th, 2024 in Cote d’Ivoire.

Twenty four teams will be tussling it out including Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) representatives Tanzania.

Off the pitch the CECAFA Zone will also have 15 officials who are part of the CAF delegation tasked to carry out different duties when Africa’s biggest football showpiece takes center stage January 13th to February 11th, 2024.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Technical Director Michael Amenga and the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson will be part of the Technical Study Group (TSG). Ali Ahmed from Somalia who is also head of refereeing in CECAFA together with Jean Claude (Burundi), Hussein Ali (Djibouti) and Tesfanesh Wareta Hailu (Ethiopia) are part of the Referees Committee.

Five cities will host the 52 matches as action takes place in six stadiums which include ; the Olympic Stadium of Ebimpe, Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium, Peace Stadium, Stadium of Korhogo, Laurent Pokou Stadium, and Charles Konan Banny Stadium.
