Ghana stop Ethiopia in final hurdle for FIFA U-20 Women’s W/Cup slot
Ethiopia have failed to qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2022 after bowing out to Ghana 5-1 on aggregate.
The Black Princess of Ghana defeated Ethiopia 2-1 in the return leg of the final phase of the qualifiers played yesterday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Salamatu Abdulai netted a brace for the home side while Mesay Temesgon pulled one back for the Ethiopian side. Ghana had goalkeeper Cynthis Konlan sent-off.
Ghana and Nigeria have booked places for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup to take place in Coast Rica. It will be Ghana’s sixth consecutive qualification to the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
