CECAFA Emergency Executive Committee meeting in Ngozi, Burundi

At the CECAFA Emergency Executive Committee meeting in Ngozi, Burundi on Sunday 15th April 2018, the committee noted with concern the negative  behaviour of some member Associations towards CECAFA competitions.

It was noted that despite FIFA  support for Development programmes, some countries were unwilling to register their teams for Youth and women competitions.

This concern was prompted by the failure of some member Associations not to participate in the on-going CECAFA Under 17 in Burundi and the low confirmation for the women championship in Rwanda next month.

In this regard, the committee has taken the necessary steps to communicate with CAF and FIFA and the necessary discipline measures will be communicated to you soon.

In the meantime, disciplinary measures against Zanzibar and Ethiopia at the ongoing Under 17 tournament in Burundi have been issued.
