Three CECAFA teams for U-20 Arab Cup 2022

Three teams from the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) will take part in the U-20 Arab Cup 2022.

The tournament which will attract 18 teams will take place July 20th to August 6th in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Somalia, Djibouti and Sudan are the teams from the CECAFA Zone that will tussle it out in the U-20 Arab Cup organized by the Union of Arab Football Associations

 Souleiman Hassan Waberi, President of the Djibouti Football Federation confirmed to Cecafaonline.com that they will send a team to the U-20 Arab Cup. “It is true we have entered a team for the U-20 Arab Cup and it will be our third time in the tournament,” said Waberi, also the third Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Somalia who will be making their debut in the tournament are placed in Group D alongside Egypt and Oman, while Djibouti are in Group E together with Tunisia and Bahrain.

Sudan are placed in Group F alongside Morocco and Palestine. The tournament will be played at the Damac Stadium and Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz in Abha.
